The IUE ultraviolet spectrum of eta CMa.
Sapar, Lili; Sapar, Arved
The results of a study of the high-resolution IUE spectrum of Eta CMa in the range 1,170-3,000 A are outlined. The observed spectrum has the best fit to the model spectrum with Teff = 1,3000 K and log g = 2. Computer recognition and identification of about 1,700 observed spectral features has been carried out. The resonance lines of CII, SiIV, AlI…

A simultaneous X-ray and optical study of TT ARIETIS during its active state - X-ray observations and discussion
Stecklum, B.; Toth, I.; Hudec, R. +25 more
We present results of X-ray observations of TT Ari with the EXOSAT satellite on August 21/22, 1985. This paper represents the second part of the publication of the results obtained with our extended program of optical monitoring and simultaneous optical and X-ray observations of TT Ari. For the first part, which includes optical results, see Wenze…
Giotto rides again.
McDonnell, T.
Giotto has been reactivated and is braced for an encounter with the short-period comet Grigg-Skjellerup.
On zenith-distance variations of the Borowiec astrolabe
Lehmann, M.; Wiktorowski, J.
Systematic differences between zenith distances of two groups of stars observed successively during the same night occur in observations carried out with the Danjon Astrolabe in Borowiec. Four suggestions for the determination of an additional parameter correlated in the best way with the observed variations of zenith distance are made. The best c…
The Composite Nature of the Peculiar Star HR 6560 (HD 159870)
Wegner, Gary; Cowley, Charles R.
Ground based high dispersion photographic spectra and ultraviolet spectra obtained with the International Ultraviolet Explorer (IUE) satellite are described and employed to determine the nature of the peculiar star HR 6560 (HD 159870). Previously this object had been described as both a composite system and a strong Fm star. We inter-compare the U…
Analysis of Neckel and Chini Standard Stars in the UBVRI Photometric System
Oriol, R.
This paper studies the list of 60 faint standard stars of Neckel and Chini (1980) in theUBVRI Johnson photometric system. These standards have been used due to the collaboration in the HIPPARCOS project of our department, but this work was made in parallel of this and the results were not used. We have re-reduced the standard stars using our own m…
