Study of the Binary Star ADS 7251 by Observations on the 65-cm Refractor at Pulkovo from 1962-2018
Romanenko, L. G.; Izmailov, I. S.; Shakht, N. A. +1 more
Results are presented from a study of the binary star ADS 7251 (STF 1321) based on a uniform series of observations on the 65-cm refractor at Pulkovo from 1962 through 2018. The errors in the yearly average positions ρ and θ are equal to 0''.004 and 0°.02 for the photographic and 0."003 and 0.°01 for the CCD observations. A new orbit is calculated…
Absolute Dimensions of the Unevolved F-type Eclipsing Binary BT Vulpeculae
Torres, Guillermo; Fekel, Francis C.; Muterspaugh, Matthew W. +1 more
We report extensive differential V-band photometry and high-resolution spectroscopy for the 1.14 day, detached, double-lined eclipsing binary BT Vul (F0+F7). Our radial-velocity monitoring and light-curve analysis lead to absolute masses and radii of ${M}_{1}=1.5439\pm 0.0098\,{{ \mathcal M }}_{\odot }^{{\rm{N}}}$ and ${R}_{1}=1.536\pm 0.018\,{{ \…

Conceptual Remote Distance Measurement with a Double-Slit Interference
Zou, Yuan-Chuan
Distance measurement is crucial to astronomy. Here, we suggest a new conceptual method to measure the distance by using a local instrument. By engaging the double-slit interference and by considering the phase information of the light, the position of the intensity maximum is related to the distance of the source. Consequently, the precise measure…
Assessing membership projection errors in star forming regions
Cambrésy, L.; Boily, C. M.; Roland, T.
Context. Young stellar clusters harbour complex spatial structures emerging from the star formation process. Identifying stellar over-densities is a key step in better constraining how these structures are formed. The high accuracy of distances derived from Gaia DR2 parallaxes still do not allow us to locate individual stars within clusters of ≈1 …

The Bright Eclipsing Binary NSV 4031 is not variable
Lloyd, C.; Walker, E. N.; Conner, D. +1 more
Observations of the supposed eclipsing binary NSV 4031 from time-series photometry and data from several synoptic instruments show no evidence of an eclipse or any periodic variation with an amplitude above 0.05 magnitudes. The spectral energy distribution of the star is very closely matched to a spectral type of F5IV.
Multiple Sun-Angle Aided Crater Morpho-Dynamics and Variation of Lommel Seeliger Corrected Radiance Factor with Respect to Phase Angles Using Terrain Mapping Camera Onboard Chandrayaan-1 and 2

Low and high sun elevation images of TMC 2&1 (Chandryaan-2&1) used for ejecta characteristics, impact dynamics, and radiance factor as function of phase angles.
On the origin of stellar associations The impact of Gaia DR2
Carraro, G.
In this review I discuss different theories of the formation of OB associations in the Milky Way, and provide the observational evidences in support of them. In fact, the second release of Gaia astrometric data (April 2018) is revolutionising the field, because it allows us to unravel the 3D structure and kinematics of stellar associations with un…
