India sets its sights on the red planet
Bagla, Pallava
Four years after India's maiden mission to the Moon - Chandrayaan-1 - the country has announced its first mission to Mars.
Space missions to the nuclei of comets - the key to understanding the cosmogony of the Solar system
Churyumov, K. I.
Some results obtained by space missions to the nuclei of some periodic comets, namely the mission "Ice", "Vega-1" and "Vega-2", "Suisei", "Sakigake", "Giotto", "Deep Space", "Stardust", "Deep Impact", "Epoxy", "Next" and the program and the scientific results of the mission "Rosetta" in the eight years of its flight to the nucleus of the comet 67P…

X-Ray spectra of AGN's with strong emission lines
Tugay, A. V.; Vasylenko, A. A.; Zaetc, T. A.
Using XMM-Newton archive we obtained X-ray spectra for 12 AGN's with strong optical emission lines. Models of our spectra corresponds to Seyfert galaxies. We conclude that for Seyfert galaxies power-law spectral index in 2-12 keV band is less than 1.9 and minimal X-ray flux exceeds 1% of optical flux in u-band.

IR photometry and dust-shell models for two carbon stars
Bogdanov, M. B.; Taranova, O. G.
We present JHKLM photometry of the carbon stars ST And and T Lyn acquired in 2000-2010. Along with brightness variations due to pulsations, changes on timescales of 2000-3000 days are also observed. Our combined light curves can be satisfactorily represented with light elements derived from visual observations, but the maxima are delayed relative …
Properties of the high-mass star forming region IRAS 22475+5939
Wang, Jun-Jie; Liu, Xiao-Lan
IRAS 22475+5939 has been well studied by previous astronomers, but we can still discover new characteristics about it, using the first observations of the lines from CO J=2-1, 13CO J=2-1 and 13CO J=3-2 by the KOSMA 3m telescope. The mapping of the intensity ratio of 13CO J=3-2 and 13CO J=2-1 shows that t…
On the possibility of investigating the galactic center region with the integral observatory by the method of lunar and terrestrial occultations
Sunyaev, R. A.; Grebenev, S. A.; Eismont, N. A. +1 more
The possibility of investigating the sky region near the Galactic center with instruments of the INTEGRAL orbital astrophysical gamma-ray observatory by the method of its occultation by the Earth and the Moon is considered. Existing engineering constraints on the observing conditions, such as the admissible orientation of the INTEGRAL satellite re…
Wide-Field Plates Observations of Stars from Earth Orientation Catalogs (EOC)
Vondrak, J.; Ron, C.; Chapanov, Y. +3 more
The Earth Orientation Catalogues (EOCs) are primarily meant to provide stable celestial reference frame in optical wavelengths for deriving Earth Orientation Parameters (EOP) from astrometric observations. The EOCs combine catalogues ARIHIP and TYCHO-2 with the rich observation material (variations of Latitude/Universal Time), obtained during the …
