Discovery of a high confidence soft lag from an X-ray flare of Markarian 421
Zhang, Peng; Shao, Li; Zhang, YouHong +1 more
We present the X-ray variability properties of the X-ray and TeV bright blazar Mrk 421 with a ∼60 ks long XMM-Newton observation performed on November 9–10, 2005. The source experienced a pronounced flare, of which the inter-band time lags were determined with a very high confidence level. The soft (0.6–0.8 keV) X-ray variations lagged the hard (4…
Deprojection technique for galaxy cluster considering the point spread function
Chen, Yong; Wang, YuSa; Jia, ShuMei
We present a new method for the analysis of Abell 1835 observed by XMM-Newton. The method is a combination of the Direct Demodulation technique and deprojection. We eliminate the effects of the point spread function (PSF) with the Direct Demodulation technique. We then use a traditional deprojection technique to study the properties of Abell 1835.…
Spectral analysis of two solar twins and the colors of the Sun
Zhao, Gang; Zhao, ZhengShi; Chen, YuQin +1 more
High resolution (R∼40,000) and high signal-to-noise ratio (>150) spectra of two solar twins, HD146233 and HD195034, are obtained with the Coude Echelle Spectrograph at the 2.16 m telescope of the National Astronomical Observatories of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Xinglong, China). Based on the detailed spectrum match, comparisons of chemical co…
The flux modulation of INTEGRAL
Zhang, Shu; Chen, YuPeng; Wang, JianMin +2 more
We have analyzed International Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory (INTEGRAL) data corresponding to observations of the high mass X-ray binary (HMXB) V0332+53 during its huge outburst which occurred in 2004–2005, and found that there is a quasi periodic signal with ultra low frequency of roughly 4‑5×10‑5 Hz in the observation. This featur…
