This paper deals with systematic [r, B-V, MV] calculations of the kinematical parameters in the solar neighbourhood using a combination of the Hipparcos and Barbier-Brossat catalogues. Contributions of the Bucharest Observatory to the CONFOR program

The connection between the optical reference frame and the radio one constitutes one of the main purposes of the astrometry. The paper is pointing out the contribution of the Bucharest Observatory in this direction. The statistic analysis of the standard errors for the astrometric PPM and TYCHO stars is presented.

We compare available SOHO/LASCO C2 images with the model calculations of the large-scale coronal magnetic field near the magnetic poles of the Sun.
