The activity of the symbiotic binary Z Andromedae and its latest outburst
Merc, J.; Gális, R.; Wolf, M. +2 more
Z Andromedae is a prototype of classical symbiotic variable stars. It is characterized by alternating of quiescent and active stages, the later ones are accompanied by changes in both photometry and spectral characteristics of this object. The current activity of Z And began in 2000, and the last outburst was recorded at the turn of years 2017 and…
A new binary star system of EA type in Perseus: UCAC4 735-019611
Brincat, S. M.; Galdies, C.; Grech, W.
Discovery of a new binary star system (UCAC4 735-019611=USNO-B1.0 1469-0068570=2MASS J01561032+5657563) in the Perseus constellation is presented. It was discovered during asteroid photometric work. The shape of the light curve and its characteristics (period of 2.12701±0.00001d, amplitude of V=0.55 mag, initial minimum period epoch HJD 2457363.37…
Improvement of Simplified Models of Variability of Stars: A review
Andronov, I. L.
Astronomical data are typically irregular in time, e.g. the space (HIPPARCOS/TYCHO, KEPLER, GAIA, WISE etc.) and ground-based CCD (NSVS, ASAS, CRTS, SuperWASP etc.) and photographic (Harvard, Sonneberg, Odessa etc.) photometrical surveys. This leads to cancellation of the conditions, which lead to the orthogonality of the basic functions, and thus…
Short- and long-term variability of the ultrashort-period eclipsing RS CVn star V0648 Aur
Paunzen, E.; Srdoc, G.; Bernhard, K. +2 more
Based on observations between 2006 and 2018, revised elements of the ultrashort-period eclipsing RS CVn variable V0648 Aur are given: HJD MinI =2457800.356(3) + 0.42246710(7)°E. An analysis of the observed times of minima reveals a probable near sinusoidal oscillation with a period of about 800 days. The corresponding (O-C) values of the secondary…
