Revised coordinates of 3 variable stars in Cygnus
Nesci, R.
The identification of the variable stars published on IBVS 1302 has ben checked on the basis of the original (unpublished) finding charts. For 3 stars significant differences were found and are reported here to allow an easier recovery by automatic cross-check procedures using digital catalogs. Some data from the recent Gaia DR2 catalog are also g…
Confirmation of the magnetic nature of the delta Scuti star HD 21190
Hubrig, S.; Scholler, M.
HD 21190 is a known delta Scuti star showing Ap star characteristics and a variability period of 3.6h discovered by the Hipparcos mission. Our previous spectropolarimetric observations with FORS1 at the VLT showed the presence of a rather weak magnetic field of the order of a few tens of Gauss. New spectropolarimetric measurements with FORS2 at th…
V620 Oph = CoRoT 104190253 - a misclassified RR Lyrae star
Benko, J. M.
An investigation of the RCB star candidate GDS J0702414-023501
Bernhard, K.; Hummerich, S.
2MASS J07024146-0235017 = GDSJ0702414-023501 was included in the "Catalogue enriched with R CrB stars" on grounds of its near- and mid-infrared colours. The object, which corresponds to the carbon star IRAS 07001-0230 = CGCS 6197, has been found to exhibit large amplitude variability in its Bochum Galactic Disk Survey light curve. Taking into acco…
Collection of Minima of Eclipsing Binaries
Zasche, P.; Svoboda, P.; Uhlar, R. +2 more
We present CCD times of minima for selected eclipsing binaries. Besides our own data as obtained at various observatories, the photometric surveys (ASAS, SuperWASP, etc.) were also used.
Cepheids and RR Lyrae stars in the K2 fields
Plachy, E.; Molnar, L.; Szabo, R.
With the step-and-stare approach of the K2 mission, Kepler will be able to observe a large number of Cepheid an RR Lyrae stars. In this paper we summarize the target selection efforts, the scientific goals that can be achieved by Kepler, and the first impressions based on the K2 two-wheel engineering test data.
Reference frame and time standard used in INTEGRAL/OMC datasets
Domingo, Albert; Zejda, Miloslav
Short description of time coordinate used in INTEGRAL/OMC data is given. The variable-star community uses observations from the INTEGRAL/OMC satellite, but it seems that with incorrect interpretation of time given there.
Implications of the non-detection of X-ray emission from HD 149427
Luna, G. J. M.; Stute, M.
HD 149427 is a very enigmatic object. It has been classified either as a planetary nebula or as a D'-type symbiotic star. Its distance is also highly uncertain. Furthermore, HD 149427 is a potential jet source. We report the non-detection of X-ray emission from HD 149427 and explore the implications to its nature. We observed the object with XMM-N…
101 Minima Times of Eclipsing Binaries Observed by INTEGRAL/OMC
Zasche, P.
The INTEGRAL/OMC CCD minima observations of eclipsing binaries are presented.
Three New Galactic Double-mode Pulsating Stars
Hajdu, G.; Jurcsik, J.; Sodor, A.
Double-mode nature of three pulsating variables are revealed.
