Low Energy ACR Spectra as Observed by the EPAC Investigation Aboard Ulysses
Keppler, E.; Fraenz, M.; Blake, John
The EPAC investigation aboard Ulysses has provided low-background measurements of low-energy ACR ions since launch. In this brief report, we describe a few of these observations and compare them with some observations of other Ulysses investigations.
Low Energy (0.5-5.0 MeV/nuc) Anomalous Cosmic Rays at High Heliolatitudes and in the Ecliptic Plane
Gold, R. E.; Maclennan, C. G.; Lanzerotti, Louis J.
In 1997 to early 1998, anomalous cosmic ray (ACR) oxygen (O) was measured by the HI-SCALE instrument on the Ulysses spacecraft at 5 AU in the ecliptic plane for the energy range 0.5-5.0 MeV/nuc. At 1 AU in the ecliptic at this time (measured by the EPAM instrument on the ACE spacecraft) ACR O was only seen in the energy range 2-5 MeV/nuc. The radi…
The Cosmic Ray Radial and Latitudinal Intensity Gradients in the Inner and Outer Heliosphere over the Cycle 22 Solar Minimum
Kunow, H.; Muller-Mellin, R.; Wibberenz, G. +7 more
The spatial intensity gradients of galactic and anomalous cosmic ray helium are studied over the 1993.0- 1998.0 time period using data from cosmic ray experiments on IMP 8, Ulysses, Voyagers 1 and 2 and Pioneer 10. The present study differs from those presented previously in that a different analysis mode has been selected for the Voyager 2 measur…
