Fundamental parameters and time evolution of mass loss are investigated for post-main-sequence stars in the Galactic globular cluster 47 Tucanae (NGC 104). This is accomplished by fitting spectral energy distributions (SEDs) to existing optical and infrared photometry and spectroscopy, to produce a true Hertzsprung-Russell diagram. We confirm the …

The North American and Pelican Nebulae. II. MIPS Observations and Analysis
DOI: 10.1088/0067-0049/193/2/25 Bibcode: 2011ApJS..193...25R

Stapelfeldt, K. R.; Guieu, S.; Carpenter, J. M. +9 more

We present observations of ~7 deg2 of the North American and Pelican Nebulae region at 24, 70, and 160 µm with the Spitzer Space Telescope Multiband Imaging Photometer for Spitzer (MIPS). We incorporate the MIPS observations with earlier Spitzer Infrared Array Camera (IRAC) observations, as well as archival near-infrared (IR) and …

Galactic S Stars: Investigations of Color, Motion, and Spectral Features
DOI: 10.1088/0067-0049/196/1/5 Bibcode: 2011ApJS..196....5O

Green, Paul J.; Gray, Richard O.; Otto, Elizabeth

Known bright S stars, recognized as such by their enhanced s-process abundances and C/O ratio, are typically members of the asymptotic giant branch (AGB) or the red giant branch. Few modern digital spectra for these objects have been published, from which intermediate resolution spectral indices and classifications could be derived. For published …
