The CHANG-ES galaxy sample consists of 35 nearby edge-on galaxies that have been observed using the VLA at 1.6 and 6.0 GHz. Here we present the third data release of our sample, namely, the B configuration 1.6 GHz sample. In addition, we make available the band-to-band spectral index maps between 1.6 and 6.0 GHz, the latter taken in the matching r…

Extended X-Ray Study of M49: The Frontier of the Virgo Cluster
DOI: 10.3847/1538-3881/ab1d51 Bibcode: 2019AJ....158....6S

Mernier, F.; Churazov, E.; Maccarone, T. J. +10 more

The M49 group, residing outside the virial radius of the Virgo cluster, is falling onto the cluster from the south. We report results from deep XMM-Newton mosaic observations of M49. Its hot gas temperature is 0.8 keV at the group center and rises to 1.5 keV beyond the brightest group galaxy (BGG). The group gas extends to radii of ∼300 kpc to the…

X-Ray Observations of an Intermediate Polar V2400 Oph
DOI: 10.3847/1538-3881/ab1ea6 Bibcode: 2019AJ....158...11J

Pandey, J. C.; Singh, Harinder P.; Joshi, Arti

Based on the X-ray observations from XMM-Newton and Suzaku satellites at four different epochs, we present temporal and spectral properties of an intermediate polar (IP) V2400 Oph (=RX J1712.6-2414). The X-ray variations are found to occur at the spin and synodic periods and are derived to be 929 s and 1003 s, respectively. The X-ray spectrum is s…
