A Multi-band Catalog of 10978 Star Clusters, Associations, and Candidates in the Milky Way
Bica, Eduardo; Pavani, Daniela B.; Bonatto, Charles J. +1 more
We present a catalog of Galactic star clusters, associations and candidates with 10978 entries. This multi-band catalog was constructed over 20 years, starting with visual inspections on the Digital Sky Survey and incremented with the 2MASS, WISE, VVV, Spitzer, and Herschel surveys. Large and small catalogs, as well as papers on individual objects…
From Scattered-light to Millimeter Emission: A Comprehensive View of the Gigayear-old System of HD 202628 and its Eccentric Debris Ring
Hughes, A. Meredith; Wilner, David J.; Stapelfeldt, Karl R. +13 more
We present here new observations of the eccentric debris ring surrounding the Gyr-old solar-type star HD 202628: at millimeter wavelengths with ALMA, at far-infrared wavelengths with Herschel, and in scattered light with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). The ring inner edge is found to be consistent between ALMA and HST data. As radiation pressure…
Kiloparsec-Scale Variations in the Star Formation Efficiency of Dense Gas: The Antennae Galaxies (NGC 4038/39)
Wilson, Christine D.; Bemis, Ashley
We study the relationship between dense gas and star formation in the Antennae galaxies by comparing Atacama large millimeter/submillimeter array (ALMA) observations of dense-gas tracers (HCN, HCO+, and HNC J = 1-0) with the total infrared luminosity (L TIR) calculated using data from the Herschel Space Observatory and the Sp…
VLT/SPHERE Multiwavelength High-contrast Imaging of the HD 115600 Debris Disk: New Constraints on the Dust Geometry and the Presence of Young Giant Planets
Currie, Thayne; Wagner, Kevin; Moór, Attila +5 more
Young and dynamically active planetary systems can form disks of debris that are easier to image than the planets themselves. The morphology and evolution of these disks can help to infer the properties of the putative planets responsible for generating and shaping the debris structures. We present integral field spectroscopy and dual-band imaging…
The Composite Nature of Dust-obscured Galaxies (DOGs) at z ∼ 2-3 in the COSMOS Field. II. The AGN Fraction
Koekemoer, Anton M.; Schawinski, Kevin; Lusso, Elisabeta +18 more
We present the X-ray properties of 108 Dust-Obscured Galaxies (DOGs; F 24 µm/F R > 1000) in the COSMOS field, all of which are detected in at least three far-infrared bands with the Herschel Observatory. Out of the entire sample, 22 are individually detected in the hard 2-8 keV X-ray band by the Chandra COSMOS Lega…
IRAS 09002-4732: A Laboratory for the Formation of Rich Stellar Clusters
Garmire, Gordon P.; Feigelson, Eric D.; Broos, Patrick S. +2 more
IRAS 09002-4732 is a poorly studied embedded cluster of stars in the Vela Molecular Ridge at a distance of 1.7 kpc. Deep observations with the Chandra X-ray Observatory, combined with existing optical and infrared surveys, produce a catalog of 441 probable pre-main-sequence members of the region. The stellar spatial distribution has two components…
