On the Mass Distribution of Stars in the Solar Neighbourhood
DOI: 10.2298/SAJ0672017N Bibcode: 2006SerAJ.172...17N

Ninkovic, S.; Trajkovska, V.

The present authors analyse samples consisting of Hipparcos stars. Based on the corresponding HR diagrams they estimate masses of Main-Sequence stars from their visual magnitudes. They find that already beyond the heliocentric radius of 10 pc the effects of observational selection against K and M dwarfs become rather strong. For this reason the au…

Improvement of Hipparcos Proper Motions in Declination
DOI: 10.2298/SAJ0672041D Bibcode: 2006SerAJ.172...41D

Damljanovic, G.; Pejovic, N.; Jovanovic, B.

More than a decade elapsed after the HIPPARCOS ESA mission (ESA 1997) observations have been collected. This first astronomical satellite mission was less than 4 years long so that 1991.25 is the epoch of the HIPPARCOS Catalogue. Many other projects have checked or improved HIPPARCOS data. Also, a long series of ground - based optical observations…

Corrections of Proper Motions in Declination By Using ILS Data
DOI: 10.2298/SAJ0673095D Bibcode: 2006SerAJ.173...95D

Damljanovic, G.; Pejovic, N.

There are nowadays numerous astrometric ground--based observations of some stars referred to Hipparcos Catalogue, made at many observatories during the last century. We used the data on latitude variations, covering the period 1899.7 -- 1979.0, of visual Zenith Telescopes (ZT) of International Latitude Service (ILS), to improve the Hipparcos prope…
