Discovery of Interacting Molecular Gas toward the TeV Gamma-Ray Peak of the SNR G 347.3--0.5
Takahashi, Tadayuki; Uchiyama, Yasunobu; Fukui, Yasuo +10 more
Supernova remnants ( = SNR) are suggested to be sites of cosmic-ray acceleration. In particular, it has been an issue of keen interest whether cosmic ray protons are being accelerated in a SNR which emits TeV γ-rays. A crucial observational test for this is to find dense molecular gas towards the SNR, because such molecular gas can best verify the…
XMM-Newton Observation of the Cluster of Galaxies Abell 1650
Yamashita, Koujun; Takahashi, Seiji
We present the nonuniform distribution of temperature and abundance in the angular extent of 10' (1.4Mpc) in A1650 observed by XMM-Newton. Spectral analysis was carried out in 19 systematically-subdivided regions, and in 15 specified regions referred to the hardness ratio (HR) map. The value of HR, defined as the ratio of counts in the 1.6-10keV b…
