Magnetic-field structure of the Crab pulsar wind nebula revealed with IXPE
Weisskopf, Martin C.; Slane, Patrick; Mizuno, Tsunefumi +5 more
We report a detailed study of the magnetic-field structure of the Crab pulsar wind nebula, using the X-ray polarization data in 2-8 keV obtained with the Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer. Contamination of the data for the nebula region by the pulsar emission was removed through application of a stringent pulsation phase cut, extracting a phase r…
Detection of the hard X-ray non-thermal emission from Kepler's supernova remnant
Katsuda, Satoru; Terada, Yukikatsu; Bamba, Aya +1 more
We report the first robust detection of the hard X-ray emission in the 15-30 keV band from Kepler's supernova remnant with the silicon PIN-type semiconductor detector of the hard X-ray detector (HXD-PIN) onboard Suzaku. The detection significance is 7.17σ for the emission from Kepler's entire X-ray emitting region. The energy spectrum is found to …
Identification and period investigation of pulsation variable star UY Camelopardalis, an RR Lyrae star in binary system
Li, Lin-Jia; Qian, Sheng-Bang; Voloshina, Irina +3 more
We present photometric measurements of the short period variable star UY Cam, which has been classified as a δ Scuti or c-type RR Lyrae (RRc) variable in different catalogs. Based on the analyses on Fourier coefficients and (NUV - V)0, we find that UY Cam is probably an RRc star. We obtain 58 new times of light maximum for UY Cam based …
Detection of the thermal component in GRB 160107A
Yamaoka, Kazutaka; Yoshida, Atsumasa; Sakamoto, Takanori +14 more
We present the detection of a blackbody component in gamma-ray burst GRB 160107A emission by using the combined spectral data of the CALET Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (CGBM) and the MAXI Gas Slit Camera (GSC). MAXI/GSC detected the emission ∼45 s prior to the main burst episode observed by the CGBM. The MAXI/GSC and the CGBM spectrum of this prior emi…
Searches for H2O masers toward narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies
Hagiwara, Yoshiaki; Doi, Akihiro; Hachisuka, Kazuya +1 more
We present searches for 22 GHz H2O masers toward 36 narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies (NLS1s), selected from known NLS1s with vsys ≲ 41000 km s-1. Out of the 36 NLS1s in our sample, 11 have been first surveyed in our observations, while the observations of other NLS1s were previously reported in literature. In our sur…
Suzaku Wide-band All-sky Monitor measurements of duration distributions of gamma-ray bursts
Yamaoka, Kazutaka; Fukazawa, Yasushi; Hanabata, Yoshitaka +25 more
We report on the T90 and T50 duration distributions and their relations with spectral hardness using 1464 gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), which were observed by the Suzaku Wide-band All-sky Monitor (WAM) from 2005 August 4 to 2010 December 29. The duration distribution is clearly bimodal in three energy ranges (50-120, 120-250, and …
Sub-MeV band observation of a hard burst from AXP 1E 1547.0-5408 with the Suzaku Wide-band All-sky Monitor
Enoto, Teruaki; Yamaoka, Kazutaka; Makishima, Kazuo +10 more
The 2.1-s anomalous X-ray pulsar 1E 1547.0-5408 exhibited an X-ray outburst on 2009 January 22, emitting a large number of short bursts. The wide-band all-sky monitor (WAM) on-board Suzaku detected at least 254 bursts in the 160 keV-6.2 MeV band over the period of January 22 00:57-17:02 UT from the direction of 1E 1547.0-5408. One of these bursts,…
Spectral Variation of Hard X-Ray Emission from the Crab Nebula with the Suzaku Hard X-Ray Detector
Enoto, Teruaki; Fukazawa, Yasushi; Makishima, Kazuo +6 more
The Crab Nebula is one of the brightest and most stable sources in the X-ray sky. Year-scale flux variation from the object was recently revealed in the hard X-ray band by four satellites. This marked the first detection of year-scale variability from pulsar wind nebulae in the hard X-ray band. The Crab Nebula has been observed at least once a yea…

The First MAXI/GSC Catalog in the High Galactic-Latitude Sky
Isobe, Naoki; Yamaoka, Kazutaka; Nakagawa, Yujin E. +31 more
We present the first unbiased source catalog of the Monitor of All-sky X-ray Image (MAXI) mission at high Galactic latitudes (
