Doppler effect as the cause of X-ray flux modulation from an ultra-short period binary.

Exosat observations of 4U 1820-30 are examined. It is found that the Doppler effect may be responsible for the modulation of the X-ray flux from this binary. The modulation amplitude is determined by the mass function of the system.
