CMB constraints on the inflaton couplings and reheating temperature in α-attractor inflation
Drewes, Marco; Kang, Jin U.; Mun, Ui Ri
We study reheating in α-attractor models of inflation in which the inflaton couples to other scalars or fermions. We show that the parameter space contains viable regions in which the inflaton couplings to radiation can be determined from the properties of CMB temperature fluctuations, in particular the spectral index. This may be the only way to …
Effective field theory of dark matter: a global analysis
Calore, Francesca; Bertone, Gianfranco; Trotta, Roberto +4 more
We present global fits of an effective field theory description of real, and complex scalar dark matter candidates. We simultaneously take into account all possible dimension 6 operators consisting of dark matter bilinears and gauge invariant combinations of quark and gluon fields. We derive constraints on the free model parameters for both the re…
Signals of a light dark force in the galactic center
Weiner, Neal; Liu, Jia; Xue, Wei
Recent evidence for an excess of gamma rays in the GeV energy range about the Galactic Center have refocused attention on models of dark matter in the low mass regime ( m χ ≲ m Z /2). Because this is an experimentally well-trod energy range, it can be a challenge to develop simple models that explain this excess, consistent…
The semi-constrained NMSSM satisfying bounds from the LHC, LUX and Planck
Ellwanger, Ulrich; Hugonie, Cyril
We study the parameter space of the semi-constrained NMSSM, compatible with constraints on the Standard Model like Higgs mass and signal rates, constraints from searches for squarks and gluinos, a dark matter relic density compatible with bounds from WMAP/Planck, and direct detection cross sections compatible with constraints from LUX. We consider…
Statistical tests of sterile neutrinos using cosmology and short-baseline data
Bergström, Johannes; Gonzalez-Garcia, M. C.; Niro, V. +1 more
In this paper we revisit the question of the information which cosmology provides on the scenarios with sterile neutrinos invoked to describe the SBL anomalies using Bayesian statistical tests. We perform an analysis of the cosmological data in ΛCDM+ r + ν s cosmologies for different cosmological data combinations, and obtain the marg…
Light sterile neutrinos in cosmology and short-baseline oscillation experiments
Gariazzo, S.; Giunti, C.; Laveder, M.
We analyze the most recent cosmological data, including Planck, taking into account the possible existence of a sterile neutrino with a mass at the eV scale indicated by short-baseline neutrino oscillations data in the 3+1 framework. We show that the contribution of local measurements of the Hubble constant induces an increase of the value of the …
