By using the data of three satellites of Cluster from 2001 to 2002, we study BBFs in the magnetotail and its relation to substorms. It is found that sometimes one or two of three satellites have already observed the BBF, and however the rest haven't. The reasons are as follows: (1) while the bulk flows satisfy the selection criterion of BBFs, the …

Further Study of Multiple Flux Rope Events at the Magnetopause Observed by TC-1 on 18 March, 2004
DOI: 10.1002/cjg2.901 Bibcode: 2006ChJG...49..825W

From 23:10 to 23:50 UT on 18 March 2004, the Double Star TC-1 spacecraft detected nine flux ropes at the outbound crossing of the southern dawnside magnetopause. During this time period the Cluster constellation was staying in the magnetosheath. The four spacecraft observed that the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) showed a dominant negative BY…

Movement of the Magnetic Structure in the Plasma Sheet Observed by Cluster II
Bibcode: 2006ChJG...46..260R

Balogh, A.; Reme, H.; Lu, Li +3 more

Using the data of the FGM instrument onboard of Cluster II, we can calculate the velocity of the magnetic structure. Data observed by Cluster II in the plasma sheet were analyzed during the storm (1 and 2 August, 2002) and the geomagnetism quiet (6 and 7 August, 2002) in GSM (Geocentric Solar Magnetospheric System) coordinates. After analyzing the…
