30 years of multi-wavelength observations of 3C 273
DOI: 10.1051/aas:1999125 Bibcode: 1999A&AS..134...89T

Bouchet, P.; Paltani, S.; Stevens, J. A. +14 more

We present a wide multi-wavelength database of most observations of the quasar 3C 273 obtained during the last 30 years. This database is the most complete set of observations available for an active galactic nucleus (AGN). It contains nearly 20 000 observations grouped together into 70 light curves covering 16 orders of magnitude in frequency fro…

The IUE INES System: Improved data extraction procedures for IUE
DOI: 10.1051/aas:1999388 Bibcode: 1999A&AS..139..183R

Schartel, N.; Rodríguez-Pascual, P. M.; Wamsteker, W. +1 more

We present the extraction and processing of the IUE Low Dispersion spectra within the framework of the ESA ``IUE Newly Extracted Spectra'' (INES) System. Weak points of SWET, the optimal extraction implementation to produce the NEWSIPS output products (extracted spectra) are discussed, and the procedures implemented in INES to solve these problems…

Understanding A-type supergiants. I. Ultraviolet and visible spectral atlas
DOI: 10.1051/aas:1999487 Bibcode: 1999A&AS..137..351V

Talavera, A.; Verdugo, E.; Gómez de Castro, A. I.

This paper is the first of a series whose aim is to perform a systematic study of A-type supergiant atmospheres and winds. Here we present a spectral atlas of 41 A-supergiants observed by us in high and medium resolution in the visible and ultraviolet. The atlas consists of profiles of the Hα , Hβ , Hγ , Hdelta , Hepsilon , Ca II (H and K), Na I (…

Spectroscopy of the post-AGB star HD 101584 (IRAS 11385-5517)
DOI: 10.1051/aas:1999259 Bibcode: 1999A&AS..137..505S

From an analysis of the spectrum (4000 Ä to 8800 Ä) of HD 101584 it is found that most of the neutral and single ionized metallic lines are in emission. The forbidden emission lines of [OI] 6300 Ä and 6363 Ä and [CI] 8727 Ä are detected, which indicate the presence of a very low excitation nebula. The Hα , FeII 6383 Ä, NaI D1, D2
