The IUE satellite's UV spectrum of PKS 2251+113 is discussed, in view of previous IR, optical and X-ray observations which indicate that one cannot fit a single power law to the entire continuum. Helium cyclotron emission from accreting magnetized neutron stars.

The authors find that helium nuclei accreting onto magnetized neutron stars in strong X-ray sources can emit cyclotron radiation. In the case of the X-ray source 4U 0115+63, the He cyclotron line at 6 eV in the ultraviolet should be observable with the IUE satellite.
