Using CSST and ejecta-wind interaction in type II-P supernovae to constrain the wind-mass loss of red supergiant stars
Chen, Xuefei; Dessart, Luc; Luo, Jingxiao +1 more
The properties of H-rich, type II-plateau supernova (SN II-P) progenitors remain uncertain, and this is primarily due to the complexities associated with red supergiant (RSG) mass loss. Recent studies have suggested that the interaction of the ejecta with a standard RSG wind should produce unambiguous signatures in the optical (e.g., a broad, boxy…
The diversity of spectral shapes of hydrogen Lyman lines and Mg II lines in a quiescent prominence
Heinzel, P.; Gunár, S.; Schwartz, P. +1 more
Context. Broad sets of spectroscopic observations comprising multiple lines represent an excellent opportunity for diagnostics of the properties of the prominence plasma and the dynamics of their fine structures. However, they also bring significant challenges when they are compared with synthetic spectra provided by radiative transfer modeling. <…
Spectroscopic survey of faint planetary-nebula nuclei: VI. Seventeen hydrogen-rich central stars
Bond, Howard E.; Zeimann, Gregory R.; Werner, Klaus +1 more
We present an analysis of 17 H-rich central stars of planetary nebulae (PNe) observed in our spectroscopic survey of nuclei of faint Galactic PNe carried out at the 10-m Hobby-Eberly Telescope. Our sample includes ten O(H) stars, four DAO white dwarfs (WDs), two DA WDs, and one sdOB star. The spectra were analyzed by means of NLTE model atmosphere…
