Search for gravitational wave trains with the spacecraft ULYSSES.

Vecchio, A.; Comoretto, G.; Giampieri, G. +8 more

We report on the search for periodic gravitational wave in the mHz band conducted with the spacecraft ULYSSES. Gravitational wave signals generally provide information about the distance of the source; ULYSSES' data have a "ken" for each kind of source one looks for; for binaries the galactic centre is accessible to our experiment. The Neyman Pear…

The gamma-ray burst GB 920622.
DOI: 10.48550/arXiv.astro-ph/9505146 Bibcode: 1995A&A...302..121G

We have analyzed the Ulysses, BATSE, and COMPTEL spectral data from the γ-ray burst of June 22, 1992 (GB 920622). COMPTEL data reveal a hard to soft evolution within the first pulse of the burst, while the mean hardness ratios of the three pulses are the same. Unlike the single instrument spectra, the composite spectrum of GB 920622 averaged over …

Problems concerning the radio emission from Jupiter observed by ULYSSES after encounter.
Bibcode: 1995A&A...301..903B

Lecacheux, A.; Barrow, C. H.

Radio observations of Jupiter, made by the hi-band receiver of the Ulysses Unified Radio and Plasma (URAP) experiment before encounter, are generally consistent with observations of Jupiter made by the Voyager Planetary Radio Astronomy (PRA) experiment. After encounter, however, presumably due to the effects of beaming towards the extreme southerl…

Particle events associated with local type III radio emission and Langmuir waves in the interplanetary medium.
Bibcode: 1995A&A...303..583C

Chaizy, P.; Pick, M.; Reiner, M. +3 more

The first detection of local type III radio emissions at the fundamental and harmonic of the plasma frequency was made by the Ulysses spacecraft when it was in the ecliptic plane and between ~1.4 and ~2.2AU from the Sun. In-situ Langmuir waves were observed simultaneously with each local radio event, indicating the presence of an electron beam at …
