On the possibility of interpretation of MgII profiles in hybrid stars.

Abstract

Semiempirical models of expanding chromospheres have been constructed for five hybrid stars by fitting of the computed Mg II profiles to the observational data. The mass loss rates obtained from these models range from 1.34×10^-9 to 3.14×10^-7M_sun;/year. On the basis of energetic considerations a possible mechanism accelerating winds in the chromospheres of hybrid stars is indicated.
