Abstract
New optical and UV observations of the novalike variable V3885Sgr are analyzed. The line identifications and radial velocity measurements are presented, and the Balmer, He I, and He II line profiles are investigated. Physical parameters of the system are derived, and spectrophotometric light curves are presented. The continuum flux distribution between 1200 A and 9000 A is compared with the accretion disk model of Bath et al. (1980). The results suggest the presence of a bright spot region due to stream/disk impact. The spot should be localized on the accretion disk at an angle of about 40-70 deg on the following side of the line joining the centers of the primary and secondary components.
