Abstract

A sample of galaxy candidates observed in the south region of the galactic bulge of Vista Variables in the Via Láctea survey is presented in this work. With the use of the Double Astrograph from the Estación de Altura Carlos Ulrrico Cesco the magnitudes in the visible light of 35 galaxy candidates were obtained. This galaxy candidates were selected from a catalogue with more than 14000 objects in the Near Infra-red part of the spectrum. For obtaining standard visual magnitudes a transformation from the instrumental observed magnitudes to the G standard magnitudes was calibrated with data of 60,928 GAIA stars. As a conclusion to this work we highlight the feasibility of using the Double Astrograph to obtain optical photometry of this type of galaxies. This information is very relevant when planning observations at other facilities such as the Jorge Sahade Telescope located at the Complejo Astronómico El Leoncito (CASLEO).
